Overview:
Effective 1/1/04, the bank branch excise tax is an
excise tax imposed on each bank for each branch office maintained by the bank
in excess of one in this State. Effective 7/1/05, the bank branch excise tax is
imposed on each bank for each branch office in excess of one maintained by the
bank in each county in this State. The tax is calculated on those Nevada branch
locations in excess of one that were open for business on the first day of a
given calendar quarter. The tax rate is $1,750.00 per branch per quarter.
Who is affected?
All banks maintaining branch offices in Nevada.
