Gold and Silver Mining Tax for Education
All business entities engaged in the business of extracting gold, or silver, or both, in Nevada and whose Nevada gross revenue exceeds $20,000,000 during the taxable year, must file a Gold and Silver Excise Tax return, unless otherwise exempted. Beginning July 1, 2023, payments made pursuant to the Gold and Silver Mining Tax for Education will be deposited in the State Education Fund.
Gold and Silver Excise Tax Forms
*On January 24, 2022, the Nevada Tax Commission adopted R130-21, a regulation to establish provisions for the administration, calculation and payment of the gold and silver excise tax. Regulation R130-21 is pending approval at the Legislative Commission as of 2/28/2022. Pursuant to NRS 233B.067, the regulation is not effective until approved by the Legislative Commission and filed with the Secretary of State. The name of the tax is subject to change once the regulation is effective.
